If you join affiliate programs and post on TikTok, its policy counts a product you earn a commission on as branded content. Those rules say what you must turn on, what you must show, and what you must not claim.
What counts as affiliate content
TikTok's Branded Content Policy says branded content promotes or reviews a third-party brand in exchange for payment or any other incentive. That covers more than paid sponsorships.
The policy counts a product you earn a commission on, such as through an affiliate link or promotional code, as branded content. It also counts gifted products and brand ambassador roles.
So if your video reviews a product and your bio or caption carries a commission link, that video is branded content under this policy.
Turn on the disclosure toggle
TikTok's policy says you must turn on the commercial content disclosure toggle when you post branded content. This applies to affiliate posts, not just paid sponsorships.
The toggle does the labeling for you. TikTok's policy says turning on the toggle for a third party labels your content as branded content automatically.
Make the product clear in the video
The disclosure is only part of it. TikTok's policy says the product must be clear without viewers having to open your profile or links.
A link in your bio is not enough. The product has to be clear in the video itself.
Claims you must not make
TikTok's policy says you must not make false, deceptive or misleading claims about products. That applies to your affiliate videos like any other branded content.
Do not promise results the product cannot deliver. Do not stretch what the product does to make a sale. If you cannot back a claim, leave it out.
The rules are your job
TikTok's policy says you are responsible for making sure your branded content follows all applicable laws.
Check the laws that apply to you before you post.
Where this policy came from
TikTok's page says its new Branded Content Policy took effect on 31 August 2026. Read the policy on TikTok's own page before you post, since it is the source for every rule above.
